Bible Verse of the week: 1-24-18

James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (NIV)

Each of us are going through many different trials in life and we are called to come together as a community to pray for one another and hold each other accountable. How can I pray for you this week?

About Me

Hello everyone, my name is Blake Harrell. I am a graduate of Mississippi State University. First question you will probably ask is, “Why did you make a blog?” I will answer this by saying, I am an ordinary 25 year old striving to be the best Christian I can be. If I can use the struggles of my life to learn from them and lead others in the direction of the Lord I have done my job. Lets face it, we are all sinners. We all struggle with different things daily and I hope to make a page to where we can work together to strengthen the foundation in which we live by. So, to tell a little bit more about myself. During my four years of college I bounced around a lot moving from school to school because of baseball. I had my mind set since I was a young child that I wanted to be a pro baseball player, so I was determined to make that happen. I played my first two years at St. Clair CC in Port Huron, Michigan. After receiving my associates in business I transferred to Mississippi Valley State Univ. During my time here I was under a medical redshirt due to a foot injury that happened the previous year. To make this a short story I really didn’t like the school or the athletics, so I made my way to Mississippi State. Although, my baseball career did not get to continue at MSU, It also was not over. I actually got the opportunity of my dreams in playing professional ball in Ellensburgh, Washington and Rochester Hills, Michigan. After my second season of baseball I realized that the Lord was telling me that I was chasing after a dream that was mine and not HIS. Therefore, every time I thought it was going well something would get shut down or a door would completely close. I fought this for a long time hoping it would just change over time or that I would get the opportunity to move up, but it never happened. That was the moment of my life when I realized that I must fully follow him in order to have true fulfillment.  This past year I have been super involved with my home church Pinelake. I have made some wonderful friends through the church missions as well as the regular attendance. I want to be able to help anyone that I come in contact with so please feel free to let me know if you need anything.  This blog is going to be used to have a community of people who love Christ and want to help each other grow closer to him, so I am excited to see where this goes! Please feel free to make any suggestions to the page!

Please place your prayer request here! I will gladly pray for anyone!
